WHO IT IS FOR

Non-EU producers already selling in Europe

BIOINGRE HUB is aimed at non-EU producers of ingredients, additives, raw materials and specialty chemicals for the food industry who:

✓ already sell to Europe;

✓ wish to serve customers who buy small quantities too;

✓ have products that are competitive in quality, specifications and price, and are looking for a distributor in Europe or an EU importer of record.

THE PROJECT

European hub for distribution and EU market access

Many European companies, from small and medium-sized manufacturers to distributors, buy less than a container, often below the producer minimum order quantity. To reach them, international producers today rely on container or bulk sales through importers and distributors.

BIOINGRE HUB lets producers serve the European market directly, from stock the producer places in the Free Port of Trieste, Italy, with duties and VAT suspended until an order is confirmed. At that point BIOINGRE HUB imports the exact quantity requested, verifies quality at a certified laboratory and delivers straight to the customer, door to door, in 3-7 days. We handle flexible quantities, from a single pallet to a full container. The producer keeps control of its prices and its customers, and retains a larger share of the commercial margin.

THE OPERATING MODEL

Four stages, one single counterpart

01

Stock in Trieste

The producer positions its goods in our bonded warehouse inside the Free Port of Trieste, where they remain its property, with duties and VAT suspended.

02

Customer order

The European customer orders the quantity it needs, from a single pallet to a full container: we break bulk and deliver FCL or LCL.

03

Import and delivery

BIOINGRE HUB buys the quantity ordered, verifies its quality, imports it as the EU importer of record and delivers it door to door in 3–7 working days.

04

Closing the operation

BIOINGRE HUB handles invoicing and collection with the European customer and pays the producer on the agreed terms.

The producer invoices BIOINGRE HUB for the quantity of each individual order. BIOINGRE HUB applies an agreed fixed fee and sets, together with the producer, a single delivered “European Customer” price. No fixed costs, no retainer, no separate commission: the cost arises when the order does.

QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE

Quality verified before import

Before each import, every batch is analysed in a certified European laboratory. Certificates, technical data sheets and labelling are checked, along with compliance with European regulation. Import takes place upon compliant results, safeguarding European customers and the producer’s reputation.

Consumer

Benefits from a more efficient, better controlled supply chain, and potentially more competitive prices.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a company in the EU to sell there?

No. You need a European operator that imports in its own name and invoices the customer: that is the EU importer of record role BIOINGRE HUB performs. You can sell in Europe without opening a European company.

Who can act as the importer of record in the EU?

An entity established in the Union, with an EORI number, that takes on customs and tax liability for the import. A non-EU company cannot do it on its own.

Does the importer of record pay VAT and duties?

Yes, it settles them at the moment of import. While the goods remain in the bonded warehouse inside the Free Port of Trieste, duties and VAT stay suspended.

How long can goods stay with duties and VAT suspended?

As long as they remain in the bonded warehouse, with no fixed time limit. They are imported when they are sold.

Can I sell below my container minimum order quantity?

Yes: it is the core of the service. With stock already in Trieste we break bulk and deliver the quantity the customer asks for, from a single pallet to a full container, FCL or LCL.

What does an importer of record service cost?

An agreed fixed fee on the final selling price. No fixed costs, no retainer, no separate commission.

Who invoices my European customer?

BIOINGRE HUB, which also handles collection. The producer is paid on the agreed terms.

What is the difference between a fiscal representative and an importer of record?

A fiscal representative meets VAT obligations on your behalf, but the goods stay yours and so does the risk. An importer of record buys, imports in its own name, invoices and takes on liability towards the customer.

Are you looking for distributors in Europe for our products?

BIOINGRE HUB does not look for customers or distributors. The goods stay yours until the European customer orders, and you set the price and the positioning. If you are looking for a distributor in Europe instead, Bioingre can also act as a conventional distributor.

Which countries do you deliver to from the Trieste stock?

We deliver across Europe by rail or road, using the intermodal transport of the Port of Trieste, in 3-7 working days. Goods can also reach another non-EU country, in which case they are never imported into Europe.

How long does it take to start?

Send us the technical data sheet, safety data sheet, certifications, expected volumes, price and requested Incoterms. Within 24 hours we come back with a P&L that sets out the commercial and financial case for the operation.

STARTING A PARTNERSHIP

Every partnership starts with a product assessment

Technical data sheet, safety data sheet and certifications. Then come identifying the European customers, signing the contract, agreeing the European customer price, the first shipment to Trieste and the deliveries. We reply within 24 hours.
